What a unexpected and amazing surprise! My husband and I had a birthday breakfast at Evert Opstal and we absolutely enjoyed everything. From the beautiful venue, the friendly service, and the amazing food. We honestly cannot recommend Evert Opstal enough, and we will definitely be back.

Second time there. Great food, the items you can buy there are also great. Brownies and ciabattas as you leave. A great spot for functions or special events or large family gatherings. Cosy in winter as well.

Hidden gem in Eversdal, Durbanville. Cosy coffee shop that serves delicious food. Beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and interesting paintings. They serve Breakfast and lunch. Had their breakfast, you can select your choice of 3 items. Comes with fresh sourdough bread and farm butter. Available for small functions. Great service by staff and managers. Very welcoming, we didnt make a reservation and they were able to accommodate us. Gets very busy on a Friday & Saturda, so best to make a reservation.

Had the lamb hollandaise. I found the sauce a little overpowering and it somewhat masked the flavor of the lamb. Maybe a tomato sauce of some kind would be a better option. The restaurant itself was surprisingly full - it's obviously a popular place in Durbanville! If you want a quiet breakfast or brunch - think twice. The location is beautiful and has stunning views of the area. I gave it a 4 for atmosphere merely because the place was so full and busy, I could hardly hear myself think. The service was polite and I have no complaints in that area. A victim of its own success...

My husband and I had breakfast here twice in April 2025. It is in a wonderful old building with many historic features inside. There is also a nice enclosed patio and outside seating in the garden. Little touches were so nice: proper cloth serviettes; your waiter/waitress name provided and written in chalk on your wooden table; you scan a QR code to get the menu (works VERY well and easy) and the service provided is very friendly and professional. I had the garden frittata both days with smoked salmon on the side - DELICIOUS. My husband made his own from a long list of options, including eggs, lamb, delicious bread, avocado and more. We weren’t rushed at all and we had a lovely quiet corner table near the huge fireplace. We will DEFINITELY return to this lovely restaurant whenever we are in the area (we live near George).

We hosted an end year lunch function at Evert and they were absolutely fantastic! They were so accommodating and kind, helping us with everything we needed to ensure we had the best time. They served delicious welcoming drinks and even allowed us to bring some of our own decorations for the tables. The food is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the pork belly and beef burger!
